Holy Details is a book of photographs taken at the Abbey of Gethsemani, Kentucky. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the monastery. The monastery was founded more than 200 years ago. The monks are Cistercian. The most famous monks from there was Thomas Merton. He was a famous 20th century theologian. The monks have a vow of silence. Most of the monastery is indeed silent. There are thousands of acres of woods to wander, however. The monks have six services daily starting at 3:15 a.m. The book pictures details from around the monastery grounds as seen by somebody on retreat. God, the preface says, is in the details.
